Jota Castellana Dance Group - Burgos  Sunday, October 4, 2015 - Day 13

We chose to take the longer, traditional route that has more natural pathways and we're glad we did because we came across a celebration that included dancers in dress typical of the region. Today's picture is of some of the dancers. We stood and watched them for quite sometime, appreciating the music and dance and soaking up the festive atmosphere. Eventually we had to continue on our way.

Jota Castellana.

Jota is a typical dance from Spain which has a wide variety of styles and music according to the area where it comes from. Usually has a 3/4 rhythm and the instruments used are guitars, bandurrias, laudes, castanets, etc.
